When is dizziness an emergency?
Dizziness is an emergency when it comes with sudden severe headache, slurred speech, double vision, weakness or numbness of the face or limbs, or a new inability to walk — go straight to a hospital emergency department, because these can signal a stroke. Ordinary positional spinning without these signs can safely wait for a clinic assessment, but the red flags cannot.

Vertigo tablets vs manoeuvres — what works?
For BPPV — the most common cause of vertigo — repositioning manoeuvres such as the Epley actually fix the problem, usually within a couple of sessions, while tablets only dull the sensation. Vestibular suppressant tablets have a short-term role in acute attacks, but used for weeks they delay the brain's natural recovery. Diagnosis first, then the right tool.
Can cervical/neck problems cause my dizziness?
Sometimes — neck problems can contribute to dizziness, but inner-ear causes are far more common and far easier to confirm or rule out with testing. Is vertigo treatment safe in elderly patients?
