When a doctor advises a BERA test, parents usually have two worries: will it hurt, and where can it be done properly? The answers: it is completely painless — sensors rest on the head while soft clicks play during natural sleep — and it is done right here in Gandhinagar, by a qualified audiologist, with same-day reporting.
Because BERA equipment and paediatric experience are scarce outside metros, families travel to us from Mehsana, Kalol, Himmatnagar, Patan and beyond. One visit covers OAE, BERA and ASSR if needed, the explained report, and the clear next step.
What we offer
- BERA (Brainstem Evoked Response Audiometry) — diagnostic gold standard
- ASSR — frequency-wise estimates for precise hearing aid fitting
- OAE screening — 5-minute first-line newborn test
- Natural-sleep protocol — bring baby slightly sleep-deprived and fed
- Same-day report, explained in Gujarati or Hindi
Frequently asked questions
How do I prepare my baby for the BERA test?
Keep baby awake a little longer before the visit and feed just before testing — natural sleep follows, and the test runs while baby sleeps. Total visit ~1.5–2 hours.
Is sedation used?
For most infants, no — natural sleep is enough. Where an older restless child genuinely needs sedation, it is planned with a paediatrician.
What if the BERA shows hearing loss?
You will not be left with a report and no plan. The same clinic handles hearing aid fitting for infants, cochlear implant guidance and auditory-verbal therapy — the full path.
